EVOLUTION TRANSMISSION REBUILD SERVICES
TRE offers three stages of rebuild service for the 5-speed Lancer Evolution 4–9 transmission, plus a separate 6-speed rebuild service. Every unit is fully disassembled, cleaned, inspected, and reassembled with quality parts. All current Mitsubishi Technical Service Bulletins are applied.
Stage 1 Rebuild — $1,150
Our Stage 1 rebuild covers all consumable components and applies current TSB updates. This is the ideal choice for street-driven vehicles that need a fresh, reliable transmission.
Parts replaced:
- New 1st–5th & Reverse synchros
- New 1st/2nd sleeve
- New 3rd/4th sleeve
- New 5th/Reverse sleeve
- New 3rd/4th shift fork
- New input shaft bearings
- New output shaft bearings
- New oil seals
- New synchro springs
- New Neodymium trash magnet & magnetic drain plug
- New snap rings, bushings, double roll pins, bearing shims, and all non-reusables
- Oiling upgrade
5-SPEED EVOLUTION STAGE 1 REBUILD = $1,150
Warranty: 12 months.
Stage 2 Rebuild — Performance
The Stage 2 is TRE's performance rebuild. All hubs and sleeves are added along with polishing, gear detail work, and shot peening of the gearset. Recommended for modified vehicles and spirited street driving.
Parts replaced (includes everything in Stage 1, plus):
- New 1st/2nd hub
- New 3rd/4th hub
- New 5th/Reverse hub
- New needle bearings under 1st–5th gears
- Heavy duty double roll pins
- Polishing of hubs, sleeves, shift rails, and selector
- Gear detail work
- Shot peening of gearset
- New HD 1st gear bearing (optional)
5-SPEED EVOLUTION STAGE 2 REBUILD — Contact TRE for current pricing.

Stage 3 Rebuild — Race
The Stage 3 race rebuild is TRE's top-level service for maximum-effort builds. It includes REM Isotropic Super Finishing of all rotating and sliding components, plus a hollow splined shaft upgrade and the complete Stage 2 treatment.
Parts replaced (includes everything in Stage 2, plus):
- New hollow splined shaft
- REM Isotropic Super Finishing of hubs, sleeves, shift rails, and shift assembly
- Shot peening of gearset
- New HD 1st gear bearing
5-SPEED EVOLUTION STAGE 3 REBUILD — Contact TRE for current pricing.
Warranty: 12 months.
6-Speed Rebuild — from $1,200
TRE also rebuilds the 6-speed Evolution transmission. Pricing starts at $1,200. A typical worst-case repair involving replacement of the complete input shaft and output shaft gearset assembly totals $2,950.
