HOW TO GET IT DONE
- Contact us by phone or email to discuss your needs and get a quote.
- We will tell you exactly what to send, how to pack it, and where to ship it.
- Ship your core to us. See the shipping page for rates and packing instructions.
- We build and test your transmission, then ship it back.
- For exchange service: a pre-built unit ships to you immediately upon receiving your core.
CORE CHARGE POLICY
A core charge is a deposit held on your old transmission until we receive it back in rebuildable condition.
The core must be the same model year and type as the unit you received. Once your core is received and inspected, the charge is returned or credited.
WARRANTY
All rebuilt and exchange transmissions carry a 12-month warranty from the date of purchase.
The warranty covers defects in parts and workmanship. It does not cover damage from improper installation, incorrect oil, or abuse.
DO I NEED TO ADD OIL?
Yes — unless specified otherwise, transmissions are shipped dry. You must fill the transmission with the recommended oil before installation and startup.
Failure to add oil will destroy the transmission immediately and will void the warranty.
MANUAL TRANSMISSION OIL RECOMMENDATIONS
Use a quality GL-4 rated gear oil. Do not use GL-5 in DSM or EVO transmissions — GL-5 is corrosive to yellow metals and will damage synchros.
Recommended viscosity: 75W-90 GL-4 or manufacturer-specified equivalent.
WHAT IS SHOT PEENING?
Shot peening is a cold metal working post-process applied to gears to increase their fatigue strength and resistance to cracking.
As shot strikes the gear surface it leaves small compressive dimples. Overlapping dimples create an even layer of residual compressive stress.
Cracks will not initiate or propagate in a compressively stressed zone — such as the root radius of gear teeth.
Rule of thumb: shot peened gears behave like they are approximately 20% larger in cross section
and hold up to high torque significantly better than non-peened gears.
We own our own shot peening equipment and offer this service to other shops as well.
EGT PROBE COMPATIBILITY
Our EGT probes are K-type exposed junction probes — compatible with all standard 2-wire K-type gauges.
Response time: 0.18 sec / 100°F. Max continuous temp: 1,700°F. Thread: 1/8" NPT – 27 TPI industry standard.
See the Accessories page for pricing and wire options.
